pool

Morzine is a vibrant colourful summer village as well as a popular ski holiday destination in the winter. Once the snow has melted away from the mountains and they have returned to the lush green pastures, Morzine takes on a completely new ambience and becomes a truly stunning village to spend time on an Alpine Summer break.

The village is a typical alpine village with plenty of chalet style buildings, with a high street full shops, cafes and restaurants. The village is not only ideally based for you to explore the local area, but within a couple of hours drive are the stunning university town of Annecy, the cosmopolitan city of Geneva and its lake, the medieval village of Yvoire on the shores of lake Geneva and Chamonix where a trip up the Aiguille du Midi is a must.

Whether you are a group of friends or a Family, the village and the surrounding area boosts a wide range of activities/events to entertain everyone. Below are just a few of the activities available.

  • Fantasticable

This zip wire will have you holding your breath. High up in the mountain vista and with up to speeds of 60mph at 240m above ground, there's nothing else like this in the French Alps!
You'll be in a comfortable harness, superman style! There are two cables, totally over 2,500m length, maximum height is 240m. We access the ride via the Chaux-Fleurie chairlift at les Lindarets.

  • Canyoning at Nyon waterfall

Canyoning is a fantastic way to experience the hidden treasures of Nyon waterfall near Morzine. Under the watchful eye of the guide, you will abseil down the waterfall, jump into rock pools and slide down smaller falls.

  • Hotdogging

Hotdogging is the art of negotiating the rapids in an inflatable canoe. Each canoe takes two people & you join a group of several "hotdogs". You set off down the rapids accompanied by a guide in his own canoe to help you navigate a fun and safe route down.

  • Hydrospeeding

Hydrospeeding is for the really adventurous, clad in a padded wet suit, helmet, flippers and using a float you "swim" down the rapids under the watchful eye of the qualified guide.

  • Paragliding

Why not try a breathtaking tandem flight over Morzine & Avoriaz. Paragliding is a magical way to see the mountains & feel the wind in your hair! You'd be seated in a comfortable harness with a qualified instructor who will guide you through take off which consists of running a dozen paces! Choose between a one or two hour flight, sit back & enjoy the ride!

  • Via Ferratta

"Via ferrata" come from Italian, meaning 'iron way'. The Italian army first used via ferrata to move troops and equipment off difficult ground in the Alps. Via ferrata are scrambling or climbing routes over cliffs and sometimes over whole mountains. The routes have steel rods and rails, steps and heavy-gauge wire cables fastened to the rock to assist and secure you. These routes allow the adventurous walker to enter the domain of the alpine climber, by clipping themselves safely onto the fixed via ferrata cable using harnesses, and specialised via ferrata equipment.

  • Walking in the French Alps

The walking trails here are endless. The mountain environment in summer is stunning with its meadows of wild flowers & wild life. Whether you fancy a stroll around the lake or along the river or perhaps you want the challenge of climbing a local peak, then Morzine and the local area is definitely for you.

You can hire a local mountain guide for the day if you prefer or you could set off, map in hand, as the walks are well signposted. Local peaks include Nantaux with views to Mont Blanc in one direction and Lake Geneva in the other, Ressachaux, Roc D' Enfer and Col De Cou to name but a few.

For dedicated hikers there are numerous 3 or 4 day hiking trips. Mountain guides can escort you on either the Dents Blanches or Aiguilles Rouges Tours or perhaps you fancy tackling some glaciated walks in nearby Chamonix.

  • White Water Rafting

White Water Rafting is brilliant fun for all the family from age 7 upwards. Make your way down grade 3 and 4 rapids in an inflatable raft. The guides are excellent at making the trip exciting and encourage you to jump off small cliffs half way down the river, capsize and generally have a great time.

For those who have done a bit of rafting before try the "rafting speciale" taking in 3 extra rapids at the beginning and lasting an hour and a half instead of the normal hour on
